RICE Reyes Católicos

The hotel is a very comfortable and well run, with very helpful and professional staff. The room was warm and a good size, cleaning excellent, good sized bathroom and a very comfy bed, as in photos. Breakfast available although I did not try this. RICE Reyes is located not quite in the town centre, but an easy walk of about 10 to 15 minutes. The hotel is on the bus route from Burgos station (located in outer Burgos) and so easy to get from the train. It is possible to securely leave luggage after checking out. There various options for meals nearby and Burgos is a lovely smaller city to visit. Unintended, but my visit coincided with the El Cid Festival so many people in medieval dress (including hotel guests) and the town was full of medieval activities and all really enjoyable.

We had stayed at the hotel a couple of years ago and it seemed to have improved in that time. We were given an upgrade to a better standard room, which was a bonus. It is very easy to find, especially from the north and is located fairly close to the city centre in a pleasant location on the river. It has an excellent bar/restaurant attached which has great food/drink which is reasonably priced. Very popular with locals which is always a good sign. Now our 'go to' place when visiting Burgos.

This was our last stop, heading for the port of Bilbao having driven up from Algeciras in the previous three days, and it was a shame we were only staying for the one night. Faultless in every aspect, we will pencilling in the RICE Reyes Católicos for when we do this journey again later this year.

Location, a short walk to the town centre. Helpful staff - especially Rosa, who was on duty when we checked in. Availability of secure parking nearby. Well-appointed room.

The hotel staff were excellent and very helpful. We received an upgrade which we really appreciated.
